OUR GOALS
As a task force, we have a set aside breastfeeding goals that align with the Healthy People 2020 breastfeeding objectives under the Maternal, Infant and Child Health (MICH) Topic area of "infant care".
GOAL1: Ensure that breastfeeding is recognized as the normal and preferred method of feeding infants and young children.
GOAL 2: Assure access to comprehensive, current and culturally appropriate lactation care and services for all women, children and families.
GOAL 3: Ensure that all Federal, State, and local laws relating to child welfare and family law recognize and support the importance and practice of breastfeeding.Goal IV: Increase protection, promotion and support for breastfeeding mothers in the work force.
OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS
The mission of the Florida West Coast Breastfeeding Task Force would not be complete without active collaborations with partners in the communities we serve. Our community partners help us reach families in need and provide them breastfeeding education, support and resources. We are very thankful to these community partners who work with us to help make Pasco, Hernando and Citrus families stronger, healthier and well supported.
